my Story

Life should be a Bento.

If I had a motto, that would be it. I like to imagine every meal as two bites of nine different dishes — a little taste of everything that inspires me. That’s how I feel about my work, too.

I’ve always found it curious that art critics talk about a “body of work” as though the appreciation of a perfect leaf can’t live in the same creative heart as a love for Wonder Woman. I embrace wherever my creative drive takes me. My work naturally falls into collections — or, as I like to call them, little bento boxes of ideas. Bento Baby!

My jewelry combines Nature and Empowerment, with a focus on recycled metals. I’ve been making jewelry for over thirty years, and like the raven — playful, curious, a little mischievous — I love mixing styles, themes, and shiny objects. Each piece is meant to remind us of the strength, love, and joy that live within us all. A great day for me is one spent at my bench, creating something I’m proud of and that I hope will delight someone else.

I’ve been a full-time metalsmith for over two decades, and I still feel like I have the best job in the world. My mind is always exploring new directions, new challenges, new ways to play with form and meaning. I’m grateful to have connected with collectors around the globe who share my passion. My work is an eclectic mix of the themes that move me — the nature that surrounds us, the spark of empowerment, and an endless curiosity about what’s next. Through it all, I strive to make a small positive shift in the world — because really, that’s what we can hope for.

I live in Asheville, North Carolina, with my wonderful husband Arthur and our spirited golden doodle, Chewie. I donate 5% of my profits to bee conservation, animal shelters, and cancer research — causes close to my heart.
